HR000 - Workplace & Domestic Violence
This session will give attendees the tools to prevent, manage, and survive violent incidents in the workplace. They will also gain an understanding of the problem of domestic violence, how it relates to workplace violence, and knowledge of how to respond.
Objectives:
Gain understanding of the problem and impact. Ability to identify various types and levels of violence. Obtain knowledge of how to identify risk factors and potential violent individuals. Ability to analyze workplace vulnerability. Gain knowledge of how to respond to an incident. Understand how to avoid being a victim. Gain knowledge of how to manage various levels of disruption. Ability to prevent victimization. Understand the importance with involving all employees. Obtain knowledge of how to eliminate hazards. Ability to define domestic violence and associated laws. Learn different forms of domestic violence. Gain knowledge of domestic violence causes. Ability to identify who is the victim or abuser. Knowledge of identified support services.
